The Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) today unveiled the 2024-25 National League season that will see the local governing body embrace innovation and digitisation.
During the launch of the new season at KCB Leadership Centre in Karen Nairobi, KVF Chairman Charles Nyaberi underscored the need to emulate global best practices of sport which revolve around innovation and technology.
The digitalisation campaign will entail a newly established Federation website (www.kvf.com), livestreaming of matches, live-scoring and indeed a full-blown social media initiative intended to bring the sports closer to the spectator.
Nyaberi explained the new campaign will involve identifying opportunities, generating and developing new ideas, and implementing them in a way that creates positive impact to the stakeholders, by and large.
KVF also used the opportunity to showcase its products which include the KVF National League, national women’s team Malkia Strikers, KVF Youth Development, KVF Beach Volleyball and the men’s national team Wafalme Stars.
“The essence going forward is to enhance the visibility, popularity, and commercial value of volleyball in Kenya by building a strong brand, attracting more fans, increasing media coverage, and securing sponsorship,” said Nyaberi.
Mr Nyaberi added that the key focus areas will be Branding and Identity, Fan Engagement, Digital and Media Presence as well as Sponsorship and Partnerships.
The function was graced by various KVF stakeholders including sponsors and well-wishers. In attendance were KCB Bank Group’s Judith Sidi Odhiambo and other corporate entities including Java, MozzartBet and the Ministry of Sports
