Kenya Volleyball Federation deputy president Paul Bitok has urged the Ministry of Sports through the government to waiver charges at the Moi International sports Centre indoor arena, Kasarani.
Bitok decried that using the facility for a day cost the federation Sh 60,000 a day saying it was on the higher side and urged the government to be lenient .
Bitok requested that the federation should be charged at least Sh 30,000 a day .
“This year we have busy schedules and we are appealing to the government to reduce the cost. For example we have men and women’s League matches, we have Kenya cup fixtures as well as various clubs who will be training ahead of next month’s African Clubs Championship to be hosted in Libya and Nigeria respectively. And of course the women’s national team, Malkia Strikers will start preps at the venue ahead of the World Championship,” said Bitok on Sunday during the National League matches at Kasarani.
“This is to much for us and that’s why we are requesting for our plea to be considered. I also want to thank our fans for the support they have continuously continued to give us by showing up at the various venues for the matches,” he added.
