Kenya Volleyball Federation (Previously Kenya Volleyball Association) was founded on April 14, 1962 with the sole responsibility of coordinating volleyball in the country. Founder members included Joshua Okuthe, Maj. Gen. (Rtd) Sam Suero, Obado Okok, Odhiambo Ogoi and Peter Mutei. The national teams (both men and women) have participated in high profile events including the All-African Games in Nairobi in 1987 in Nairobi
Malkia Strikers took part in their fourth Olympic Games in Paris in 2024 having represented Kenya at the Sydney Games in Australia in 2000, Athens Games in Greece in 2004 and during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics belatedly held in Japan in 2021
KVF was affiliated to the National Olympic of Kenya (NOCK) in 1975 in a move aimed at creating further linkage and opportunity for growth.
KVF was later recognized by the CAVB (Confederation of African Volleyball) and FIVB (World Volleyball Governing body). The Federation has been domiciled at Nyayo National Stadium for a duration spanning over 20 decades.
Previous Chairmen include Ibrahim Efumbi, Alfred Khangati, the late Waithaka Kioni, the late Patrick KIambata. The Federation is currently chaired by veteran administrator Charles Nyaberi.
