Webuye West Member of Parliament Dan Wanyama has challenged coaches to always settle for merit and not frienship when selecting a team.
Wanyama, a former national team player said on many occasions, coaches have failed to select players based on performance choosing friendship over merit.
“I’m happy that most of the participants here are current and former players and therefore I’m speaking to the right audience. I persuade you to select players on merit,” said Wanyama during the closing ceremony of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Coaching Course last week at Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi.
