Trailblazers coach Moses Epoloto attributed his team’s loss at the hands of Kenya Ports Authority 3-0(25-17,25-21,25-12) to lack of mental strength.
Epoloto bemoaned how the team failed to rise to the occasion when it mattered the most during the second leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation men’s National League at the Nyayo National Stadium outdoor volleyball court,Nairob,on Friday.
“If you watched the game, all the departments worked but we failed to perform when it mattered. We lost the match psychologically. But again the presence of KPA’s opposite hitter Peter Kamara in a way destabilized my team as they were reports he will not be available for selection due to injury. We have established ourselves to play fast game but we failed to do that and played our opponents match, which slowed us and that worked against us,” said Epoloto who replaced Geoffrey Omondi who crossed over to Kenya Pipeline.
- “We are going back to the drawing board. We will train on Saturday to tighten the lose ends and hopefully we will come back stronger in our next match,” added Epoloto a former national men’s team and General Service Unit coach
Trailblazers have a rest day on Saturday before they return to courts on Sunday with a match against Mt Kenya Base Yetu.
The loss against KPA left Trailblazers third on standings with six points from four matches, while KPA are second with nine points from four matches as leaders and defending champions Kenya Prisons have 11 points from the same number of matches.
