Battle royale is expected this Friday through to Sunday at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium and the outdoor volleyball courts in Nairobi as the Kenya Volleyball Federation women’s National League takes centre stage.
The wheat is expected to be separated from the chaff when former champions Kenya Pipeline face off with defending champions KCB Women’s Volleyball Team in one of the Friday’s clashes.
KCB will then square it out with Kenya Prisons on Sunday in another clash.
KCB who failed to touch a ball during the first leg in Nyeri as their opponents failed to honour the fixture will take on Pipeline who sits third on the standings with five points they earned from a win against rivals Kenya Prisons(3-2) and 3-0) Post Bank.
Pipeline beat KCB during the Mwalimu Kahiga Volleyball Tournament in Nyeri County in the group stage and it will be a matter of wait and see if the the Bankers who beat the Oilers in the National League play-offs in June will return the favour in the League
KCB would later lose to Prisons in the semi-finals of the Nyeri tournament but the bankers had beaten the wardresses in the play-offs last season at the Kasarani Stadium.
Prisons are fourth with four points
Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) and Kenya Army occupy the first two positions with six points from two matches each played.
A the end of second leg, the standings is likely to indicate which eight teams will book early play-offs slots.
At the conclusion of the regular season, eight teams in each gender qualify for the Play-offs.
In the end of the play-ofss, the top two teams qualify for the African Clubs championship.
