There was no time to rest as the men and women’s volleyball teams returned to training ahead of the second leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League in Nairobi Kenya.
Teams which are fresh from competing in the recently concluded KVF first leg cum Mwalimu Kahiga Volleyball Tournament at Kamukunji grounds in Nyeri County last weekend are all back in training to sharpen their skills ahead of the second leg.
The women’s league has been set for November 22-24 at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium as well as the Kasarani indoor Arena, Nairobi.
The men’s League is primed for November 29 to December 1 at the same venue.
After the Nyeri show down,, Defending champions Kenya Prisons led the standings with 11 points from four matches, with Kenya Ports Authority and Trailblazers coming in second and third respectively with six points each from three matches played but KPA have a better set ratio.
National Youth Service, Nairobi Prisons and Wester Prisons are in the opposite end having not touched a ball.
In the women’s category Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) under new coach Jeremiah Mukopi have taken an early lead on the table with six points from two matches, while Kenya Army has six points from two matches with inferior set ratio as former champions Kenya Pipeline whobalso have a new coach in Geoffrey Omondi who crossed over from Trailblazers complete the top three positions with five points from two matches.
At the bottom end,reigning champions KCB Women’s Volleyball Team, Lipalikes and Nairobi Prisons after they did not play in Nyeri.
Mukopi filled the gap left by the late Daniel Bor who died in April.
