Kenya Volleyball Federation deputy president and KCB Women’s Volleyball Team Technical Director Paul Bitok was among the coaches that flocked the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) in Kakamega in the just ended Kenya Secondary School Sports Association (KSSSA) national Term Two Games to search for talent.
Other coaches at the week-long event at were former Kenya women’s volleyball team, Malkia Strikers and KCB Women’s Volleyball Team coach Japheth Munala, under 20 women’s volleyball team coach and former Kenyan international Cathrine Mabwi, Kenya Airport Police unit and former Kenyan international Luke Makuto, Kenya Pipeline assistant coach Rose Magoi as well as Vihiga volleyball club Samuel Mugata, Post Bank women’s volleyball team coach Vernon Khainga and former Equity Bank men’s volleyball team coach Sammy Kirongo.
“We just fielded an under 20 women’s team to the African Championship that is ongoing in Cameroon, and we want to wish them well. But with the talent I have here, I know the technical bench for the U-20 will be spoilt for choice. We also want to thank KSSSA for the continued partnership that has enabled us to have age group teams,” said Bitok.
“KCB has a feeder school-Kesogon Secondary School and so I’m here to see them play and encourage them. But once some of them are clear schools and are good, we easily take them to join us. But again, there are other players from other schools that are good and so it’s following their journey and growth so that we can advise them accordingly when it comes to which clubs to join,” said Munala
