Kenya women’s volleyball team, Malkia Strikers will use the one week international tournament in Vietnam as a build up ahead of the FIVB World championship scheduled for August 22 to September 7 in Thailand.
The event will be held in four cities of Bangkok,Nakhon Ratchasim,Chiang Mai and Phuket.
Malkia strikers have been drawn in pool “G” together with Germany, Poland and Vietnam.
Other African representatives Cameroon will be in the company of Ukraine, Serbia and Japan are in pool “H” as Egypt are in drawn in pool “A” that also has Thailand,Netherlands and Sweden.
Kenya Volleyball Federation President Charles Nyaberi said Malkia Strikers technical bench led by Geoffrey Omondi were in the process of selecting the provisional squad saying that in the few days it will release the names that will start nonresidential training ahead f the event.
Omondi who is the Kenya Pipeline women’s volleyball team coach will be assisted by LCB Women’s Volleyball Team assistant coach David Muthui and former Kenyan International Esther Chepkosgei.
Azenga Mavisi who is attached to Directorate of Criminal Investigation is the team’s trainer.
