Kenya Prisons men’s volleyball team dominated individual awards as the annual Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Memorial Tournament ended on Tuesday night in Dar esalaam, Tanzania.
Prisons won against Serengeti of Tanzania 3-1 in the final.
Kenya’s other representative Chema Volleyball Club from Juja finished third after coming from a set down to beat Rukinzo of Burundi 3-1 in the third-place play-offs.
Among the Prisons players who received individual awards are Most Valuable Player and outside hitter Dennis Esokon,Michael Chemos who was voted the best middle blocker, Kelvin Maiyo best setter, and Peter Kibata best libero.
Others were best middle blocker Levis Ogutu,and best receiver Denis Omollo and best coach Denis Mokua,
