After winning against Vietnam 3-0(25-23,25-22,25-18) as the FIVB World Championship pool “G” matches concluded in Phuket, Thailand on Wednesday night, Kenya women’s Volleyball Team. Malkia Strikers moved up five places as per August 27,2025.
Kenya failed to proceed to the next round after failing to win two of their previous matches against German and Poland.
Bagging a set from third ranked Poland 3-1also contributed to the improved ranking.
Prior to the Championship, Kenya had been ranked 26 before they played against Germany and lost 3-0, against Poland 3-1 before they won against Vietnam with straight sets.
Egypt (56) and Cameroon (46) who failed to impress in their respective pools.
Egypt lost to hosts, Sweden and Netherlands with straight sets in pool “A” having bagged a set from Thailand before they lost the match 3-1, while Cameroon in pool “H” succumbed to Japan, Ukraine and Serbia in straight sets.
The rankings, points amassed as well as Challenger Cup will be crucial ahead of the 2028 Olympic qualifiers.
