Leonida Kasaya, Loice Simiyu and Denis Esokon were feted as the CAVB Zone V Clubs Championship ended on Monday night at the Lugogo indoor arena, Kampala, Uganda.
Kasaya and Simiyu who plays for Kenya Pipeline women’s volleyball team bagged the best outside hitter and best server awards respectively, while Esokon who signed for the Rwandese side Rwanda Patriotic Army from league champions Kenya Prisons this season also won the best outside hitter award.
Pipeline surrendered the title they won in 2023 in Kigali, Rwanda to Patriotic Army of Rwanda 3-1 (25-20,24-26,17-25,23-25) in the final on Monday, while APR beat compatriots Rwanda National Police 3-1(26-24, 19-25,25-18,25-21) in the final.
The Oilers are expected back in the country on Wednesday in time for the fourth leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League at the Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium and the outdoor courts, Nairobi on Thursday to Sunday.
