Defending champions Kenya Pipeline women’s volleyball team were drawn in Pool “A” of the CAVB Zone V Clubs Championship during the draws of lots that were conducted at the Copper Chimney, Kampala, Uganda o they n Wednesday night.
The annual event that brings together top men and women’s teams from East African Nations will run from February 27 to March 3.
The sole Kenya representatives will be in the company of the Ndejje Elites from Uganda , Prisons Tanzania and KCB- Nkumba(Uganda).
Pipeline will be seeking to defend the title they won during the last edition that was held in Kigali, Rwanda in 2023.
The Oilers beat Rwanda Revenue Authority 3-0 in the final, while Rwanda National Police came from a set down to see off Sport-s from Uganda 3-1 to win the men’s title.
The event saw Triza Atuka bag the best blocker, Pamela Adhiambo best attacker, Agripina Kundu was awarded best libero while retired setter Rose Magoi was feted the Most Valuable Player.
Pool “B” has Patriotic Army of Rwanda,Sport-S and VVC.
