Kenya Pipeline women’s volleyball team coach Geoffrey Omondi now believes KBC can no longer be taken lightly despite losing key of its players this season.
Omondi candidly admits that KCB were definitely a hard nut to crack despite Pipeline winning 3-2.
Newly appointed Omondi has dared to dream of his maiden Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) league title in his debut season with the six-time African champions.
Omondi crossed over to Pipeline from Trailblazers men’s volleyball team.
KCB went down fighting but Omondi believes that they’ll be formidable in the season through and through.
“The game has been tough, KCB is a good team, we really had to go in deep in order to beat them. But I can tell you for free that the people who will meet them in subsequent matches tomorrow or day after tomorrow, its going to be tough for their opponents,” said Omondi.
The fact that they (KCB) are playing well, receiving well, and indeed field strong attackers, Coach Omondi says Bankers will fight tooth and nail from match to match.
- Asked about his team’s strong points against KCB, Coach Omondi continued: “Services really pushed a lot. My services were good and were to the target and on the right speed and I honestly believe It kind of distorted our opponent’s attack, it saved us, then we had to form our defense properly. But it was not a walk in the park. We are having another tricky fixture tomorrow. against Nairobi Prisons and we are still going to dig deep, its not going to be easy either but we believe we will win.”
