KCB Women’s Volleyball Team tactician Japheth Munala is overly excited with the leve of enthusiasm and resilience exhibited by his girls thus far, and glad that things have began looking up for the former African Clubs Champions.
Munala reckons that his players are well on course for better displays despite their 2-3 lose to Kenya Pipeline during the second leg of the Kenya Volleyball Federation (KVF) League at Nyayo National Stadium gymnasium,Nairobi on Friday.
Reflecting on their lose in Nairobi, Munala noted that his players are in a much better shape than they were in Nyeri earlier in the month.
KCB are in the business of rebuilding their outfit after losing middle blocker Marian Sokoiyo and left attacker Miriam Musa to Pipeline as Sharon Chepchumba headed to Vietnam for professional stint.
Prolific setter Esther Mutinda is not be available for selection this season due to personal reasons.
Munala: “We lost against Kenya Pipeline 2-3. But I must admit that the players played very well against Pipeline, better than we did in Nyeri. I am glad that they have shown a lot of improvement and are turning the corner impressively well, with those coming from school, I guess KCB will be a force to reckon with.”
In Nyeri, KCB surrendered a one set lead to succumb to rivals Pipeline 3-1(22-25,25-22,25-19,25-22) in last pool “B” match of the Governor Mwalimu Kahiga Volleyball Tournament at the Kamukunji grounds in Nyeri County.
