Friday morning rains delayed the serve off Kenya Volleyball Federation men’s Division Two at the Nyayo National Stadium handball and volleyball outdoor courts..
KVF Sports organising Secretary John Oronje said,”We were set to begin the matches on time but nature had its way. Once the rains stop then the matches will serve off. The teams are here and match officials as well,”
On offer are the two slots for promotion to the National League at the end of the season. The second edition has attracted 15 teams that will be jostling for the two slots up for grabs.
At the end of the season, the top two teams in the League get promoted to the top tier while the bottom placed teams in the National League are relegated to the second tier.
Worthy of note is the fact that three of the 15 teams that will start life in the Division Two have had stints in the top tier before they were relegated and it remains to be seen how they will align themselves in this particular League.
The three are Central Prisons,Vihiga Volleyball Team and Mombasa Prisons.
Central and Mombasa Prisons were relegated last season for finishing in the bottom two while financial constraints denied Vihiga the chance to play in the Last season, National Youth Service and KAPU were promoted to the National League from the Division Two.
