Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) wants to go one better as the Kenya Volleyball Federation men’s Division Two League begins this Friday at the Nyayo National Stadium outdoor handball and volleyball courts in Nairobi.
Newly appointed coach Marvin Tuikong who replaced Jack Miduma who crossed over to Equity Bank has his work cut out.
“I found the team at a better place. They are a good crop of players with good combination. Miduma did an amazing job. Mine will be to pick from where he left. The team finished fifth in their first time of asking and that was something. I just want to build on that and I hope at the end of the season, we will have something to smile about,” said Tuikong who coaches Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Hospital Hill High School.
Tuikong also acknowledged that it will be his first time handling a team of that status saying he is ready to take that exciting and challenging journey.
“This is another huge assignment but I’m here to experience and learn along the way. After the departure of Miduma, RDU reached out to me ,seeking my services and so I just want to do what I know how to do best,” said Tuikong.
Tuikong however said they will not turn up for the first leg matches as some logistics were not in place but he was optimistic of playing in the second leg.
