Tailblazers’ Coach Moses Epoloto says consistency will be the key ingredient for him in the Kenya Volleyball Association (KVF) Men’s National League, a series he’s determined to fight “tooth and nail” to decimate his court adversaries.
It’s still early days after the first leg in Nyeri, but Epoloto’s confidence is sky high and growing by the day.
“I’m feeling good. When you win the first match in a League, the feeling is always good. That goes to show that you are creating your path to challenge for a top position,” Epoloto quipped.
Reflecting on the Kamukunji ground experience, Epoloto remarked: “You need to make projections, you need to set goals. And the goal that we have now, from the whole team perspective, is that we need to do a silver medal.”
By and large, Epoloto is content with his team’s general performance.
He continued: “We had fanstatics services. There is a player who served four consecutive points towards the set point. And we also had some good blocks from the right side and some great attacks from the right side too. We have a very young opposite player.”
Epoloto has promised all Trailblazers fans some scintillating play, now that KVF is embracing innovation and going indoor.
“We are all here to see that volleyball grows and since we are going indoor, we shall have more coverage and our fans will watch us from all corners of the world from the livestreams.”
Trailblazers sit third on the men’s log behind leaders Prisons who accumulated 11 points in Nyeri and KPA on 6. TRailblazers tie on points, though, with KPA but trail the latter on Sets Ratio.
Traiblazers beat AP 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 18 -25, 25-19), Kenya Army 3-0 before losing 1-3 (21-25, 25-19, 15-25, 20-25) to Prisons. Epoloto, who previously coached GSU, replaces Geoffrey Omondi who crossed over to Pipeline ladies’ team.
