𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐮𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐢 has been named the new head coach of the 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭 (𝐑𝐃𝐔) 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, following the departure of Jack Miduma, who left to coach the Equity Bank men’s volleyball team. With an FIVB Level 2 coaching credentials, Tuikong steps into the role with a clear goal: to push RDU beyond last season’s 5th-place finish as they gear up for the Kenya Volleyball Federation National League 2024-2025 Division Two, scheduled for 15th-17th November at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.
The challenge for Tuikong is significant. RDU finished the 5th last season, indicating strong potential but a need for more refined strategies to break into the top tier.
Tuikong’s approach, blending his technical expertise with a youthful, energetic squad, is expected to inject new life into the team. His focus will be on strengthening teamwork, honing individual skills, and building resilience under pressure. Assisted by Kelvin Mbugua, Tuikong aims to create a culture of discipline and competitive spirit, leveraging the fresh talent at his disposal.
With these elements in place, Tuikong has the opportunity to shape RDU into a stronger contender in the league, aiming for a better finish and long-term success. His leadership will be pivotal as the team prepares for the upcoming season, and all eyes will be on how he transforms this squad into a more cohesive and formidable force.
Congratulations to Marvin Tuikong Kiboi on becoming the new head coach of the RDU volleyball team. Wishing him and the team success in the upcoming Kenya Volleyball Federation National League.
